New upgrade for international site visibility

From 20th May 2008, you can reach millions of additional buyers across North America by paying a small additional fee which will provide your listings exposure in the main default search results on both eBay.com and eBay.ca. Listing on eBay.co.uk will also give you access to Irish and UK registered users as normal.

The fees to use this optional upgrade are:

How it works

This upgrade is available on the “Sell Your Item” section of eBay.co.uk

On the "Review your listing" page go to the "Maximise your item's visibility" section and select "international site visibility." (If you're using Turbo Lister, this section is called "Listing Upgrades").
Note: If you don't see the international site visibility option, it's not available for your listing.
Select sites you'd like to display your item on.
Become a "global seller" without having to list on more than one site.
Be sure you've specified an international postage option on the previous "Create your listing" page.

What are the Seller qualifications?

You need to have a minimum Feedback Score of 10 positive.
Your eBay account must be in good standing.
You must have a verified PayPal account and include PayPal as a payment option in your listing.
You'll need to meet the selling requirements of the sites where you want visibility. To learn about eligibility on other eBay sites, visit the site you want to find out about by choosing it from the global sites menu on the eBay home page.

What are the item requirements?

You need to select either the Online Auction or Fixed Price (Buy It Now) selling format.
You won't be able to use international site visibility for listings on eBay Shops, eBay Motors.
You must have a verified PayPal account and include PayPal as a payment option in your listing.
The category you select must be eligible for international site visibility (see restricted categories in the frequently asked questions below).
If the category isn't eligible, you won't see international site visibility as a choice in Listing Upgrades.
You'll need to select international postage for your listing and indicate that you're willing to post your item to the United States and/or Canada.
Note: We recommend that you also select a delivery service and specify postage cost, since items with this information are more likely to be purchased.
Specify PayPal as a payment method.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it compulsory to use this upgrade to get visibility for my items in the US and Canada?
No it is not compulsory. It is purely a new option. International sellers can continue to list their items separately on different eBay sites and pay the relevant fees, or offer International Postage on their domestic listings and rely on buyers in other markets using Advanced Search to find their listings.
Can I use the upgrade to have my item show up in my own country? For example, if I am selling out of Ireland, and I list on eBay.com, can I pay for International Site Visibility for eBay.co.uk?
This upgrade is not available for sellers to list in the country where they are located. The best way to show your item to your home country buyers is by listing on your home site. This will guarantee the best possible visibility, because your listing will be treated as a listing from your country site.

Are there any categories where this upgrade will not apply?
The upgrade cannot be used in the following categories:
- Motors
- DVDs
- Video Games
- Residential Property
Does this upgrade apply to Shop Inventory Format(SIF) listings?
This upgrade can only be applied to Auction or Fixed Price listings and does not include Shop Inventory Format (SIF) listings.
Will my item show up differently in search or browse on the secondary site (for example ebay.com and ebay.ca if I am listing on eBay.co.uk)?

Your items will show up in main default results when your items match buyers' search terms. However, there are instances in which your items will show up somewhat differently.

Because categories are sometimes different between sites, there are some cases where items won't show up on the secondary site exactly as they do on the primary site.

Your item will always show up on the primary site (i.e. eBay.co.uk), as normal, when a buyer does a search. This will not change.

The only change is that you now have the opportunity to have your item show up in search on the secondary site.
Can buyers filter out my items and other international items?

Yes, but this is no different from today. Today, buyers can customise their searches, and they will still be able to do so in the same way.
Will I be eligible for volume seller discounts?

Yes, if you list your items on eBay.co.uk and choose this upgrade your sales will count towards your volume seller discounts. If you choose to list directly on eBay.com or eBay.ca then these sales will not count towards volume seller discounts
Will I lose visibility of my listings on eBay.co.uk if I don't pay for the upgrade

No, when you list, assuming your listing meets the eBay.co.uk listing policies, you will automatically have visibility on eBay.co.uk
